Task Master

Task Master

Turn strategy into action. Task Master is where objectives become projects, projects become tasks, and tasks get done — with AI assistance, templates, and streamlined request workflows.

Overview

Unlike standalone project management tools, ILPapps Task Master connects every task to the objective behind it. When a team member completes a task, the key result it supports automatically reflects the progress. Strategy flows down; execution flows up.

Key Features

Project Management

  • Create & organize projects — Set up projects with descriptions, owners, timelines, and team members.
  • Project settings — Configure statuses, fields, and workflows per project.
  • Budget tracking — Track project budgets (available to budget managers).
  • Location assignment — Associate projects with office locations.

Task Management

  • Create tasks — Add tasks within projects with assignees, due dates, priorities, and descriptions.
  • Subtasks — Break complex tasks into smaller subtasks for granular tracking.
  • Status workflow — Move tasks through customizable status columns (To Do → In Progress → Done).
  • Assignments & due dates — Clear ownership and timeline for every task.

Templates

  • Task templates — Save recurring task structures as templates for quick reuse.
  • Standardize processes — Ensure teams follow consistent workflows for common operations.

Inbox

  • Personal task hub — A dedicated space for standalone tasks that do not belong to any project.
  • Quick task capture — Rapidly create tasks from your inbox without navigating to a project.

Request Tasks

  • Request submission — Team members can submit task requests that go through an approval process.
  • Approval workflow — Managers review and approve/reject task requests before they become active tasks.

Dashboard

  • Project metrics — Track completion rates, overdue tasks, and workload distribution.
  • Task analytics — Understand throughput, bottlenecks, and team velocity.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Task Master from the sidebar.
  2. Create a project and invite team members.
  3. Add tasks with clear descriptions, assignees, and due dates.
  4. Use the Dashboard to monitor progress.
  5. Save frequently used task structures as templates.

Best Practices

  • Link tasks to OKR key results so daily work connects to strategic goals.
  • Keep task descriptions specific — include the definition of done.
  • Use subtasks for anything that takes more than a day.
  • Review the Dashboard weekly to catch bottlenecks early.
  • Set up request workflows so ad-hoc work does not derail planned objectives.
